Bad/Poor Paintless Dent Repair
Bad/Poor Paintless Dent Repair
Before we talk about bad or poor paintless dent repair, it's important to briefly talk about what is paintless dent repair.
Paintless dent repair is the process of repairing dents, dings, hail damage, etc., by utilizing specially made tools to push the dented metal from behind back to its original shape or contour rendering it unnoticeable. All this done while keeping your original paint and panels intact. There are some other methods and procedures, but for the purpose of this discussion, we will only talk about pushing from behind.
Below are photos that you will see various panels of vehicles that have dents unfinished, damaged paint, and pimpled metal.
What causes this? It is caused by painless dent repair techs who are not capable of repairing dented vehicles properly.
The reasons will vary. It could be inexperience, improper access, or simply not caring about the finished results.
So, how do you the customer avoid this? It's really doing your homework just like you would with any other service ( i.e. mechanics, homebuilders, remodelers, plumbers, etc. ). When you seek out any service for your vehicle or house, you want to make sure that you're getting a great service for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, great service may not always be inexpensive. That leads me to my next point that you should avoid seeking the lowest cost. I've seen it often when clients automatically lean towards the lowest cost to get a dent or ding fixed on their vehicle and they get these results.
It really takes a lot of experience, quality tools, continuing education and certification to fix today's vehicles.
In addition, a good point to make is that if you get these results on the outside of your vehicle, imagine what type of damage could be done on the inside components. With today's technologically advanced vehicles, you want to avoid that.
At Dent Aid, we have 25+ years experience, the latest tools and techniques to repair dents on today's vehicles.
